Program notes:

Ave Maria No. 15 – Domina Nostra Annunciatione was written in celebration of the Church of the Annunciation, Houston’s oldest existing parish, on the occasion of its 150th anniversary. The work is a setting of the Angelus prayer, containing in it three Hail Mary’s along with lines recalling the Annunciation of the Angel Gabriel to Mary.

This composition incorporates both chant and polyphonic styles as a tribute to Church of the Annunciation’s ongoing commitment to these styles in its life of worship. The work is broken into eight general sections which correspond to the seven sections of the nave (divided by columns) in addition to the sanctuary.
