Program Notes: In this piece, I composed an original, “almost Mozarty” theme on which I built a series of variations. The idea was to stretch this pastiche-like theme into different, contrasting musical settings. Some variations are more clearly related to the original while others are extreme, tacky caricatures of this or that element of the theme.
