Program notes: A missa brevis, Missa Sancti Ioannis Apostoli (Mass of St. John the Apostle) was written during my strand of several pieces inspired by the texts of this apostle and evangelist. It was composed with both the New English Translation (implemented in Advent 2011) and original Latin translation of the Mass in mind and is also intended to be used by choirs of varying degrees of skill.
